Welcome to the 5th Annual OSERA Symposium!
Saturday, May 19 • 1:50pm - 3:10pm
Intermediate Social Justice-Understanding Your Privilege

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This workshop will delve into the impact that privilege can have in student organizing. It will help participants under-stand what privilege is and how it operates in our society. We will build a context for understanding that there isn’t a hierarchy of privileges or oppressions. As a result, we will help participants learn how identifying and understanding privilege can enable us to become better allies. Participants should have a basic understanding of the web of oppression, and the interaction between power, privilege and oppression. Ideally, partici-pants will have already participated in one of the Intro to Justice workshops and/or the Power, Privilege and Oppres-sion workshop
