Anti-Immigrant Forces have Targeted Oregon’s Ballot

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

On behalf of One Oregon, a statewide coalition that defends against anti-immigrant attacks, this workshop helps participants to understand more about Oregon’s immigrant, refugee, and LGBTQ communities and learn about proposed 2018 ballot measures in IP22 “Stop Oregon Sanctuaries” that would target immigrant communities and communities of color. Presented by Basic Rights Oregon, the states LGBTQ advocacy organization, attendees will examine the shared history of oppression and exclusion shared by LGBTQ people, immigrants & refugees, and people of color in this state. Did you know Oregon was founded to be an all-white state? Or that Oregon has faced more than 30 Anti-LGBTQ ballot measures, more than any other state? IP22, and its network of white nationalist affiliated backers, fit neatly into Oregon’s long history of pushing marginalized people out of public life. Learn exactly who is behind this attack, and how we will stop it.
